Frequently Asked Questions

What are the six minimum control measures?
The six MCMs are: (1) Public Education & Outreach, (2) Public Participation, (3) Illicit Discharge Detection & Elimination, (4) Construction Site Runoff Control, (5) Post-Construction Stormwater Management, and (6) Good Housekeeping.
How often do outfalls need to be screened?
Most Ohio MS4 permits require screening of all known outfalls at least once during the permit term (5 years), with priority outfalls screened annually. We develop a screening schedule that meets your specific permit requirements.
Can you take over our entire MS4 field program?
Yes. Many municipalities contract with us for all field components of their MS4 program, including outfall screening, IDDE investigations, catch basin inspections, and BMP evaluations. We handle the field work and reporting.
What is dry weather screening?
Dry weather screening involves inspecting outfalls during periods without rainfall (typically 72+ hours dry) to identify non-stormwater discharges that may indicate illicit connections, sanitary overflows, or other prohibited discharges.
